I was recently on an 8 day Bahamas cruise and noticed a lot the whole trip. From the first day I noticed the different people from different backgrounds in community demonstrating a form of togetherness. I went to one of the comedy shows on the ship and he talked about people from different races coming together and having fun but the joke was we had to come outside of the United States to get that. Even though we were on the ship and sailed away from Galveston which is in the United States, we were sailing to a different country.
Even in the elevators I saw people from different races and backgrounds being nice and friendly to each other and I was able to have long conversations with people I didn't know. We were all there to have fun and enjoy ourselves on vacation and everything else didn't matter. We were all there supporting each other and random people were coming together to become friends and do things together. We ourselves met people from a whole different background from us but that didn't keep us from relating to each other on some things and still having fun. I think a lesson that can be learned through this is just how society should be as a whole.
We can improve on getting to know each other and also not letting one thing like our race and background keep us from trying to see what makes the other person special. Little kids are a good representation of this. Little kids no matter who they see are very pleasant and nice towards each other and also towards adults they don’t even know. They don’t use the different demographics or other things in the world to keep them from opening themselves to the world because they don’t know. They don’t know the differences of race and everything else us adults look at. We should all be like the little kids in this instance.
