Reinventing Yourself In 2026

Well, it is that time of year ago and wow we're already about to be in 2026. I feel like I was just recently reflecting on how 2024 went and getting ready for 25. It just flies and that's why it is important to live in the moment and be present. It’s the usual of me reflecting on the past year and just talking about what I want in the next year and how we can be our best selves. First and foremost, 2025 was a year of travel for me and I want to thank God. I was able to go to 4 different countries and 3 states in the United States and all I can say is it was a blessing. Some people never get the chance to leave their country and for me to get to the point of being 2 countries away from being in all 7 continents is a blessing I don't take it for granted. The experiences I was able to have in these countries and just the feeling of a change of scenery is something I want for everyone. I have gotten to the point of wanting to pay for adventure no matter how much.

The experiences, stories and how much I continue to learn about myself is something no one can ever take away. To more traveling in 2026 and for the people who have that place they want to go even if it’s an hour drive or next state over, just do it. You never know how much you will see yourself and the world differently after. Another thing I have found at the end of this year is the sense of stillness and not being in a rush anymore. I kind of discovered this in my trips to Hong Kong and Japan and there is nothing like that sense of peace. I just turned 28 in October and I'm not rushing to make all the money in the world or chase after the success that everyone stresses themselves over. In Japan most of the people work over 10 hours a day and don't have a lot but the enlightenment they have discovered spoke to me.

One of my favorite youtubers Nathaniel Drew also 28 spoke about this on his backup channel about not feeling like he needs to be in a hurry anymore. There were things he wanted to accomplish like a million subscribers, making the money and all the other things but even after accomplishing these things it has no effect on him and how his life is reflected. He talked about thinking things will crash and burn if he wasn't constantly moving but that hasn't been the case. I am at the point where I have slowed down and taken time in a calm way and just let it flow. This is a shift Nathaniel is talking about that I am familiar with, and I hope others get to this point. I don't have the urgency to find the best job, get the best certifications and accomplishments because I don't define and measure myself by these metrics.

My mom talks about me looking for a wife and getting married and even though I am 28 there is no urgency to find the right one. They will find me and vice versa and the timing will work itself out. I also want to go to the library more in 2026. I remember during my middle school years my dad would take me and my siblings to the library every Saturday for us to check out books, read, play games on the PCs etc. and we would be there for hours. I want to go back to those days where I could walk around the library for hours and enjoy the interesting things there. Of course, I won't be playing games, but I want to spend time there reading and just being in that kind of environment like I was during the younger days. I'm working on getting a library card as we speak and we'll see how that goes. 2025 was a year of structure and hoping the best for everyone in 2026. Happy New Year to everyone. Check out Nathaniel Drew and his channel for anyone interested in travel, self-improvement, and others.
