The Greatest Scene I Have Ever Seen

It is probably the greatest scene in Narcos Mexico, and I don't think anyone will disagree. Netflix did us a disservice canceling the series after 3 seasons, but we got important moments like the one I'm going to talk about. Narcos Mexico is a continuation of the original series which focused on the life of Pablo Escobar but this one focuses on the Mexican cartels. I highly recommended it if anyone hasn't seen it. In the scene one of the drug lords Pablo Acosta turns the body of another drug trafficker Fermin who was just shot dead and starts praying for him. Fermin was about to shoot Pablo himself but ended up getting shot by Pablo's friend Amado.
Even though he was about to be killed by Fermin, he still prays for him. This whole back and forth is because Fermin's son was killed by one of Pablo's associates without his permission because he was suspected of stealing from them. Fermin was trying to avenge his son's death. Amado in this scene asked Pablo Acosta why he is "praying for this asshole" in which Pablo gives one of the greatest speeches of all time. Pablo was young when he got into the drug game and was a "naive 20-year-old ". He got caught with 12 ounces of heroin duck taped to his arm. He was a broke kid just trying to make it and of course he didn't have a lawyer to help him fight his charge because he couldn't afford it.
The person who stepped in was Fermin who takes out his wallet and told him "You're not dying in here for 12 ounces". This gesture by Fermin at that time saved Pablo from going to jail at such a young age and like he said, "gave him his life back". This led to them becoming friends and doing business together when Pablo rose up to be the drug lord he is but the death of Fermin's son broke this partnership. Fermin sent men to kill Pablo, but he barely escaped with his life. Praying for Fermin to Pablo is a sign of respect. To him "The only thing that keeps order in the game is respect". To Pablo, Fermin was a father and husband first before he was a drug trafficker and he deserves to leave the world with respect.
Narcos Mexico Season 2 Episode 3 to me is the greatest episode in the series. I somehow always go back to it because of the life lessons of honor and respect. There is a lesson in remembering the good that people do for us no matter what. Pablo Acosta no matter what happened remembered Fermin giving him his life back at 20 years old. It was a point during the episode in which he went down to Fermin's house to make peace. Fermin's wife was the one home and Pablo gave her a gun and kneeled for her to shoot him to avenge her son. She didn't but it showed loyalty, and the kind of honor Pablo had. Pablo knew that this feud with Fermin was something he started and it was up to him to finish it. Pablo Acosta was my favorite character, and his morals is what made him successful up until his death.
