We are losing a lot of people

Lately I have been reading lots of articles and watching the news and it seems like every day there are people dying. Whether by shooting, illness or just normal circumstances it is a lot. I remember reading one about a husband killing his wife and then their three children and after all that finally killing himself too. Now I don't know what went on in their lives but no matter what nobody deserves to have their lives taken. I also read another article about a 26 year old College Student who was getting ready to go to law school being shot in a hit and run. They found him in his car with a bullet wound and he died shortly after.

Another article was in Houston in which an individual was trying to calm someone down at a McDonalds because he was upset due to his order being wrong. He was just trying to calm everyone down and was shot outside by the angry individual. A life lost for no reason. I could go on and on because it seems like these stories never end. It has me thinking like what is the world going to and what can be done at this point. It seems like it has gotten to the point where these are seen as normal occurrences. There was a shooting at my high school a couple years ago and nothing close to that happened 9-10 years ago when we were there. Nowadays we can't go a week without hearing about children being shot at school by a student or even a random individual who had nothing to do with the school.

You can't even trust your children to be safe at what used to be one of the safest places in the past. I was making this statement recently that we should be the ones burying our parents and them not having to bury us and it is true. No parent should have to bury their child but there is more and more of that nowadays. It just never seems to end but the thing is there is not an easy solution to all of this. We can all come together and be better but how much is that going to change. We can't control the actions of others and in some moments our emotions take control of our actions.

We also don't know what people go through on the daily and in my case working in the mental health field has really opened my eyes to the world and just what people go through. The person you see walking around you in the grocery store or driving next to you may be going through too much they can't bear anymore. They may be ready to give up and let go and this is a hard place to be. We control how we come across towards these people and how we treat them because you never know these days. A lot of people feel like they have no one and in my line of work just listening goes a long way. We all can be better and we can't change the world unless we change ourselves.
