Why I never regret my past mistakes and you shouldn't either

I think we all have times in which we look back on our past and wish we could have done things differently or failed to do things we should have done but I think it can be looked a different way. As human beings I think having regret is normal and wishing things were different is normal but I think we can see these moments as lessons. In life we go through things and we can use those moments as lessons and this is a way to view our mistakes. None of us are perfect in life and we make mistakes or do things we didn’t mean to. I have been thinking about this lately and have came to the point in which I have accepted those mistakes and moved forward.

The way I see it if I didn’t go through all those experiences and make those mistakes, I wouldn’t be the person I am today or where I am. Those mistakes and decisions have taught me a lot I have used in the long run. One thing I have learned is no matter what I did and the decisions I have made, I felt like it was the right one at the time. No matter how delusional I may have been in the past, what I did felt right to me at that point and I will never bring myself down for it. Everything done was for a reason and even though it may not have been the right one, I still felt like it was the right one.

I have gotten to the point where I own up my decisions and will stick with those past decisions no matter what. We can never regret our past decisions because it has made us who we are. Our experiences are important in shaping who we are because the best teacher is experience. Without experience and having gone through those moments, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Past decisions and regrets should never be looked down upon because we all do things for a reason. Our reason may not be right in the long run but something led to it and that shouldn’t be looked down upon. On the other hand something important to do is to own up to those things. There is no point in denying that we did do these things because owning up to them is the first step in realizing if it was right or wrong.
