Letting go is something we have struggled with or continue to struggle with today. Whether it's letting go of people, things or the need to control, we never know how important it is to do it until time passes. There are people we come across who make a big impact on our lives and we want them to stay forever but there comes a time when they have played their part in our lives and we need to go our separate ways. Whether it's relationships, friendships, etc people come in our lives as blessings or to teach us lessons. A lot of us including me have chased people in the past in hopes of not losing them and keeping them in our lives but I have learned it shouldn't be this way. Those meant to be in our lives will always find a way to stay and the ones not have to be let go.
Letting people go doesn't necessarily mean hating them or wishing anything bad on them but just wishing them the best in life and hoping for their success. There was a quote I read a while ago which proclaimed "Just because you're no longer in my life doesn't me I don't want to see you eat, I do, just not at my table". This in short explains that we can wish people the best and go our separate ways peacefully. We all have our journeys and sometimes we have to stop at different destinations and go across different people and things in order to be who we're meant to be. Who knows, later down the line you may meet those people again and reconcile. In relationships, sometimes letting go is what is needed to bring two people together again. "If you love something set it free and let it go, If it comes back it's yours, If it doesn't it never was and there is nothing wrong with that".
Sometimes people need time apart to realize how much they mean to each other and why it is worth fighting for what they have. In other instances letting go helps us realize what went wrong and how much we can improve as a person or what to look for in the next relationship. Who and what is meant to be in our lives will always find a way back. When it comes to letting go of control, we need to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. We have to embrace tough situations and adapt to ones that are not in our control. There are things in life which are in our control and ones which are not. We should only embrace and do our best to change and impact the ones which are in our control and not worry about the things which are not. Letting go of the things which are not in our control sets us free from stress, anxiety and other mental situations. Let it go and embrace the best for yourself.
